Our Story

The journey begins

1970

Ram Kuti offers a unique starting point for your visit to Pushkar because for years the site was the retreat of Guru Param Pujya Shri Ranchhoddasji Maharaj (Gurudev).

1970

After Gurudev’s death in Mumbai in 1970, Shri Harilal B. Nathwani and Smt. Bhagiratibai Nathwani, the owners of the house chose to preserve and memorialize his original rooms. Gurudev had occupied the basement (the ‘Guffa’) and today it is a place of meditation for all.

1982

Today the Guffa area is preserved and is fully accessible from the guesthouse. Our 8 bedrooms and living area were added later to the original edifice by Shri Manubhai Madhvani, who purchased the original house in 1982 in memory of his late wife, Smt. Jyotiben Madhvani.

Shri Manubhai Madhvani also enhanced Gurudev’s Guffa area to make it a larger and more spacious area for meditation.
